Ethereal Diving

Get Teleported to Mayan Period

The old megalopolis of Caracol was spread over more than 65sq miles and was home to a population of around 170,000 individuals. The vestiges of magnificent castles, Spiritual sanctuaries, mystical temples and bustling bazaars are dotted over Caracol. This celebrated city of ancient times was an arch-rival to close-by Tikal which had destructive armed force and powerful leaders.

The main attraction of Caracol is the Caana, which is also known as 'Sky-Place' remains the tallest building design in Belize. If your schedule doesn't allow you to visit ruins dunked in Mayan glory, going to Xunantunich is the best alternative which is outside of San Ignacio. You will need to cross the Mopan River by ship and swoosh through the backwoods to get to Plazas and edifices which were reflector of pinnacle of Mayan Civilization. Rise to the top El Castillo (130 ft) for majestic views of the nearby territories
