A twisting and turning
trail ascends from the profundity of the Urubamba Valley, through
cloud-shrouded forests, and passes through enigmatic ruins of centuries sold
way stations. For Incas this rugged roadway was the access channel to the
grandeur state of Machu Picchu. It is no less than a pilgrimage for the
thousands of hiking devotees who come here each year to trek four-day long and
peer through enticing sceneries. At last they are rewarded with what is
possibly the most amazing archaeological site in the whole world.
