We all are
acquainted with the melting pot culture of Turkey and it being a junction to
Europe and Asia. However many are not still aware about its diversity, not only
in terms of cultures which thrive in its capital but also the varied choices of
activities available at the All-glorious Istanbul.

Architectural
marvels are speckled all over Istanbul, but Aya Sofya standouts from the lot,
courtesy to its innovative design, rich history and mystical charm. The
exterior is not that promising, but hold on to your breath when you see its
magnificent interiors. The overall setup is indescribable, the ambience ignite
the senses and make your souls wander in past. The Byzantines celebrated the
liturgy here, the crusaders dismantled the doors and the Ottomans prostrated to
the almighty. You just can’t think of another place with such a dramatic
timeline.

Many metropolitan
cities have a skyline which could fit in the postcards, but Istanbul’s skyline
incorporates so many iconic monuments which an entire album can’t accommodate.
The incredibly famous 7 hills of the Old City are crowned with a series of
enigmatic mosques with awe-inspiring embellishments, the sight of these mosques
having their thrones at the peak is bound to leave a strong imprint on your
soul. The various open-air restaurants of the city couldn’t have asked for a
more beautiful backdrop.

The Bosphorous
strait which connects the Seas of Marmara and the Black Sea, is marked by two
gigantic bridges. It is travelled across by thousands of cars, ferries, fishing
boats on daily basis. Voyaging in the ferry alongside massive tankers and cargos
is definitely a must have experience. The views at sunset are magical
nevertheless, with pastel shades of sky fusing to make delightful hues and then
getting vanquished by the black expansion.

Rejuvenate your
soul and roam around in the towel at the mesmerizing 16th century
Ottoman hamams. Here you can get drenched in history, architecture, curative
waters and lather all in one go. Most of the Ottoman Mosques incorporate a
hamam within their premises and there are many examples of ancient public baths
spread all over the capital. Although most of them have been transformed into
shops, but the survivors include Cemberlitas hamam and Cagaloglu hamam.

The bazaar region
is turbulent and vivid. While chic Kanyon may be ground zero for brand devotees
on the opposite side of the Golden Horn, mobs of women set in here. Walk around
the concealed Ottoman caravanserais and twisted shopping boulevards, where the
essence of cinnamon and clove amplifies as you approach the memorable Spice
Bazaar.
