The fine sands and gin-clear waters of Mexico’s beaches have tempted travelers for past few decades now, but the southern Pacific Coast gloats about its unmatched tranquil waterscapes, where beach bums swing on hammock, mango trees are swayed wildly, and the devotees meander on serene sands amidst the euphoric sound of waves. This ethereal slice is totally unaware of the concept of hush and rush – a place to revel in while exploring concealed coves, polishing your surfing skills, or treasuring the pastel shades of sky at nightfall in the open air restaurants. In contrast to the over-crowded Cancun, there’s not even a single big resort thus leaving the enamor and exclusivity of nature wide open and unmarred.

With about a dozen laid-back towns extended across the surfing playground of Puerto Escondido and the exotic eco-resort of Bahia de Hautulco, this other-worldly stretch of coast has to its bounties golden beaches, adrenaline pumping surfing, and sailing trips where you will spot many dolphins, turtles and whales. It is quite challenging to reach here, many people choose to come here via Oaxaca and Mexico City, which connect you to the airports of Puerto Escondido or Bahias de Huatulco, but once you arrive, you are rewarded with indulgent seascape which live in perfect harmony with magnificent nature and the Laissez-faire attitude of the town is always an added advantage.

Some of the best North American swells lure in beach devotees, professional surfers and globe trekkers to this ‘Hidden port’- once a laid-back fishing village that is the perfect ice-break to the laid-back ambiance of the region. If your skill set doesn’t comply with the requirements of the legendary pipeline, you can always resort to the gentler waves of Puerto Escondido, where number of surf schools abound which is best for tenderfoots and amateurs. Irrespective of what you chose to do on your jaunt to this heavenly place, a glitzy café and fine dining scene kindles up every night, accompanied by several live performances and rebellious night owls.

The dull sands and seaside lodgings of the waterfront towns of Zipolite, Puerto Angel and Mazunte have the coast’s most fatal charm- something which can be described as ‘classical hippie vibe

Wall graffiti depicting Bob Marley, half-dressed yoga gurus and tumbledown beachside cafes conspire to make this Mexico’s favorite unwinding destination. The accommodations are mostly rustic, wooden structures with thatched ceilings and menu is wholly solely dependent on daily fresh catches. Nestled amidst the landscape of swooshing waves, warm sun, rocky inlets and green shrouded hills, this is a place which ignites all your senses.
