The Paradoxes of the Peru’s Northern Coast

 Peru is one of the best surfing destinations of the world, with its 1000 km long, enamoring coastline, which is constantly crammed with swells from the Pacific. Its northern beaches ditch the clouds of fog which cover up the south coast throughout the year. The Northern coast is bestowed with endless golden sunshine. Mix up surfing with sun-bathing in secluded beaches, chic lodgings and sumptuous seafood, and you have all the ingredients of perfect beach holiday. And if you escape from the captivities of the sun loungers, there is a plethora of archaeological marvels to delve in.

Peru is probably the pioneer surfing heaven which the thrill seekers cherished. Meander in the beach at Huanchaco, 560km north from Lima, you will spot one-seat boats still voyaged by fishermen, also known as the reed or ‘horses’. After getting their daily catches, fishermen skim home their reeds, exactly like those portrayed in 3000 year old pottery vessels in the region. These fishermen are warm and welcoming and will happily take a tourist out for their ventures, and then you can savor the seafood in one of the many delightful restaurants that line the water front.

The surfing and partying hotspot of Manorca, 1200km north of Lima, is no more a secret, but still the beaches that extends towards its south, conspire for an immaculate beach holiday. At Las Pocitas, which is just a short stroll away from Manorca, is home to ultra-stylish hotel named DCO. It feels like coming directly out of style magazine, alternatively go for the laid-back Casa de Playa, which has fine restaurant, whose menu is filled with flavorsome sea foods. About 10km south of Las Pocitas are the fishing villages of Vichayito, Los Organos and Punta Veleros, sandwiched between sandy beaches and dry hills, Tranquiller than Las Pocitas, they are tailored for an ultimate family holiday. For some visitors the surf breaks of Punta Veleros are the ground zero, moreover rich choices of other water sports proliferate which includes snorkeling, scuba and kite surfing.
